the few, the proud, the yellow
Since 1994, Jedidiah Foster and Thomas Martin have sporadically worked together to bring art to the artless. This collaboration has most recently manifested as The Yellow... an exercise in lo-fi, pop minimalism.
The recipe is as follows:
Ingredients: Guitar, Fender Rhodes, Pro-One synthesizer, Floor Tom, Snare, Ride Cymbal. Auxiliary instruments and players as needed.
Strip classic pop hooks down to their barest essentials, and then add layer after layer of simple, melodic complements. Add a splash of whiskey and cigarettes, a quick and dirty DIY recording ethic, shake vigorously and viola!
The Yellow.
There is no new aesthetic. There is only the hook.
